The 257th Army Band is a National Guard unit located in the capital city of our free nation. Officially recognized as "The Band of the Nation's Capital", our mission is unique in that we do not belong to a "state". We are a federal military entity that reports directly to the President.
The District of Columbia National Guard is assigned the moniker Capital Guardians and our support units are charged with overseeing the safety and security of the capital city. Our organization is comprised of both the Army and Air National Guard. The combined military units include the Mobilization Augmentation Command, 113th Wing, the Combat Support Team, Public Affairs, JAG, Medical Support and stat of the art Information Services Branch (telecommunication and information technology).
For more information on full time and part time positions within the DC National Guard (Army or Air), please visit our organization website at http://www.dc.ng.mil/
"The Band of the Nation's Capital" has concluded an intense but highly successful Summer Concert Series. The audience has been fantastic and we look forward to announcing more public performances. For now, the band has a series of military functions to support but more public appearances are in the works!
Keep checkinig our website, Facebook and You Tube for announcements, games, videos, etc! Join the fun!
Join our Facebook page and get in on the fun! From now until the end of the band's Summer Concert Series, we will be posting a new question in our "Wednesday Quiz". Questions may include anything from music to the US Army, DC National Guard (Air and Army), the Army Band Program or "The Band of the Nation's Capital". Be the first to correctly answer one of our questions and you will win a prize. Prizes include t-shirts, polo shirts and more. We had our first Quiz last week and even the members of the 257th learned something new!
